There are so many ways to get clients, but the key is to focus on the ones that are most fun for you. After all, this is your business, and you get to choose how you want to bring in those clients.
Give First
Let’s start with one of my favorite strategies: being of service without any expectations of return. This means giving back to your community or audience without any ulterior motives.
For example, you could create valuable content on your website or social media channels that helps your target audience solve a problem or achieve a goal. This could be in the form of blog posts, videos, or podcasts.
By providing value without any expectations of return, you build trust with your audience, which can lead to future clients.
Join In
Another way to get clients is to network and make new connections. Attend conferences, events, or join groups where your target audience is likely to be.
Make genuine connections and add value to the conversation. You never know who might be looking for a coach just like you.
Speak Up
Speaking engagements, whether in-person or online, are also great ways to get clients. People feel more connected to you when they can see and hear you.
When you’re on stage or in front of a camera, you have the opportunity to showcase your expertise and provide valuable insights. Plus, you can connect with your audience and potentially attract new clients.
Write it Down
Writing is another powerful way to get clients.
You could write articles or blog posts for websites or publications that your target audience reads. Or, you could write a book or an e-book that establishes you as an expert in your field.
Writing allows you to reach a wider audience and build your credibility.
Reach Out
Finally, don’t underestimate the power of old connections. Reach out to people you used to work with, friends, or family members who might know someone who needs a coach.
You never know who might be able to refer you to your next client.
Remember, the key to success with any of these strategies is consistency. Pick a few that sound like the most fun for you, and commit to showing up consistently.
Don’t expect overnight success, but with time, effort, and persistence, you’ll start to see results.
